Yoga is a process of deconstructing the barriers we have erected that prevent us from enjoying an authentic connection with ourselves and the world. Yoga is a returning to oneself by discarding the various layers of conditioning we have accrued over time as a means of coping with our personal and generational (suffering) or states of being.  Yoga dates back to sixth century BC and is continually evolving. Most people are attracted to yoga to increase flexibility and physical fitness and to reduce stress.  A large percentage of those who come to the mat for physical fitness later develop a change of heart as to why they continue their yoga practice. Instead, its the self-actualization realized from practice – self reflection, self awareness & compassion, increased confidence – that garners their continued commitment and interest.
